Linaewen's Inklings
Jan. 1st, 2015 10:09 amWelcome to my Inkling Journal! What is an inkling? I'm glad you asked!
The definition of INKLINGS according to Wikipedia is as follows:
In this journal, however, I'm using the term much more loosely, as another word for fanfiction -- my fiction narratives that have been inspired by and are based upon others' original creations. So that's what this journal is all about -- it will serve as a place to store my fanfiction, where it can be read by others, and even discussed if the opportunity arises!
At the moment, said inklings are pretty much entirely Tolkien-related -- but that could change, because I have other interests that are calling me to write about them. So eventually, there could be quite the wide range of subjects here.
Again, welcome! Enjoy your visit, and I hope you find something to read that strikes your fancy.
The definition of INKLINGS according to Wikipedia is as follows:
The Inklings was an informal literary discussion group associated with the University of Oxford, England, for nearly two decades between the early 1930s and late 1949. The Inklings were literary enthusiasts who praised the value of narrative in fiction, and encouraged the writing of fantasy. Readings and discussions of the members' unfinished works were the principal purposes of meetings.
Some of the more regular members included J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Christopher Tolkien.
